WPGator Search Insights

How it works

1. Connect Search Console

Sign in with a Google account that can access your Search Console property. Choose the site you want to analyse—no personal Google Cloud project or developer credentials required.

2. Synchronize your reports

Import read-only query and landing-page data for the current 28 days, previous 28 days and 90-day context. Reports are processed and stored locally in WordPress.

3. Find actionable insights

Review search opportunities, compare query trends, examine competing landing pages and check exact search-term mentions. Apply focused lenses and export the results for further analysis.

Features

Focused search opportunities

Surface queries worth defending, recovering, growing or reviewing using transparent, property-relative signals derived from your own Search Console performance.

Period-over-period query analysis

Compare impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position across the current and previous 28-day windows, supported by 90-day context.

Query and landing-page drill-downs

See which pages receive visibility for each query and which queries lead to each page. Page-share data helps reveal competing URLs and possible keyword cannibalization.

Search Term Mentions

Run an on-demand exact-phrase check against a landing page’s title, headings, body, link text and href values to compare Google visibility with current page content.

Filters and query lenses

Focus reports by impressions, position and opportunity type. Apply optional lenses for question-form, test-answer, local-search or potential-commercial queries without assigning intent scores.

Private, local reporting

Reports are stored inside your WordPress database and can be exported to CSV. No front-end tracker, visitor cookie, Google Analytics connection or paid licence is required.

Pricing

Compatibility & Requirements
Search Console data: Google may aggregate, anonymize or omit low-volume queries, and average position is not a conventional rank-tracking measurement. WPGator Search Insights analyses the first-party data Google makes available; it cannot recover rows withheld by Search Console.
Search Term Mentions: On-demand checks require a public page on the same WordPress host that returns an HTTP 200 HTML response. Password protection, maintenance mode, firewalls or blocked server-side requests may prevent inspection.
WordPress 7.0 or later; 7.0.2 tested for V1
PHP 8.1 or later; PHP 8.3 tested. The DOM extension is required for Search Term Mentions.
Google account Required, with access to at least one verified Google Search Console property
Google Cloud project Not required — authorization is handled through the WPGator OAuth application
Google permission Read-only Search Console access using webmasters.readonly
Outbound connection The WordPress server must permit HTTPS requests to Google APIs and the WPGator OAuth relay
Search scope Google Web search-performance data in V1
Property scope One selected Domain or URL-prefix Search Console property per WordPress installation
Report windows Current 28 days, previous 28 days and 90-day context, ending three complete days before synchronization
Search Term Mentions Same-host public HTML pages only; exact-phrase checks are performed on demand and are not stored as persistent report data
Caching Standard page and CDN caching is supported. Search Term Mentions inspect the public HTML response currently served for the selected page.
Data storage Synchronized reports are stored in two site-prefixed WordPress database tables. OAuth credentials are encrypted and stored in a non-autoloaded option.
Front-end tracking None — no analytics script, visitor cookie or Google Analytics connection is added
WordPress Multisite Not supported in V1
Pricing Free — all V1 functionality is included and no licence key is required
