WPGator Search Insights
WPGator Search Insights is a self-hosted WordPress plugin that turns first-party Google Search Console data into practical query, landing-page and content-alignment insights. It adds no visitor-tracking script, analytics tag or front-end cookie.
Read-only Search Console access
When a WordPress administrator chooses to connect a Google account, WPGator Search Insights requests read-only access to Search Console data for properties that account is permitted to view.
This access allows the administrator to select a property and retrieve search queries, landing pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rates and average positions. The plugin cannot modify the connected property or make changes to its Search Console configuration.
How authorization works
WPGator operates a limited OAuth relay to securely complete the Google authorization callback and refresh access tokens without distributing a shared Google client secret inside the WordPress plugin.
The relay handles authorization only. It does not receive, store or analyse Search Console queries, landing pages or performance reports.
Local WordPress storage
- Search Console reports are requested directly by the connected WordPress site from Google.
- Retrieved report data is stored and analysed in that site’s own WordPress database.
- Google access and refresh tokens are encrypted within the connected WordPress installation.
- Search Console data is not sold, used for advertising, used to create marketing profiles or used to train general-purpose AI models.
User control
Only an authorized WordPress administrator can connect a Google account, select a property, synchronize reports, disconnect Google access or delete locally stored Search Console data.
Disconnecting removes the site’s stored OAuth credentials and stops future synchronization. Existing reporting history remains local until the administrator explicitly deletes it. Google access can also be revoked through the connected Google Account’s third-party access settings.
Our handling of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
