Description
Upload the course. Choose the display. Publish.
Articulate Rise & HTML Package Loader turns self-contained HTML course ZIPs into reusable WordPress content—without requiring LearnDash, a hosted delivery service or reporting infrastructure you do not need.
Deliver polished web courses without turning WordPress into an LRS.
The loader is deliberately focused on upload, safe extraction, presentation and package management. It does not claim SCORM or xAPI learner reporting.
For standalone WordPress delivery
Place an HTML course on any page or post with a native block or shortcode. LearnDash is not required.
For existing learning sites
Embed packages inside LearnDash lessons, topics or any other WordPress content while leaving enrolment and progress logic with the LMS.
How it works
From exported ZIP to published course in three practical steps.
Export a web package
Create in Articulate Rise, BranchTrack, MindSmith or another HTML authoring tool. Export a self-contained ZIP with a working index.html.
Upload and preview
Choose the intended storage folder and upload one ZIP at a time. Chunked transfer supports large packages and provides a completion message before you continue.
Embed anywhere
Add the HTML Course block or shortcode, choose Button, Inline Iframe, Lightbox or Fullscreen display, then preview before publishing.
Four ways to present the same package
Set site-wide defaults, then override the presentation for an individual embed where needed.
Package delivery without unnecessary reporting overhead.
Chunked ZIP uploads
Transfer large HTML packages in manageable chunks. Packages up to 200MB are supported, subject to the host and server environment.
Safe package handling
Every package requires a working index.html. PHP archives are rejected and extracted course folders are protected from directory browsing.
Gutenberg block and shortcode
Use the dynamic HTML Course block with inspector controls, or a shortcode when a block is not the right fit.
Package usage reporting
See every page or post using a package through either a block or shortcode, and identify unused packages before deleting them.
Theme-aware appearance
Use theme-inherited buttons or configured colours, plus default sizing and lightbox appearance controls.
Clear free-tier capacity
The free tier allows two active packages. Deleting a package releases its slot, and replacing an existing package does not consume another.
Choose delivery or reporting—not complexity by default.
The right tool depends on whether you need to display a package or track standards-based learner activity.
| Capability | HTML Package Loader | eLearningFreak | Tin Canny Reporting |

| Starting paid plan | $59.95 per year | Commercial licence | Commercial licence |
| Requires LearnDash | No | No | Yes |
| HTML package display | Yes | Yes | Yes, within its LearnDash workflow |
| SCORM or xAPI reporting | No—package display only | Reporting capabilities available | SCORM and xAPI reporting with built-in LRS |

On smaller screens, swipe the table horizontally. Third-party features, licences and pricing can change; confirm current requirements when reporting or LRS functionality is essential.
Start with two real packages.
The free tier contains the full display and management workflow. Paid licences remove the active-package limit.

Frequently asked questions
Does the loader require LearnDash?
No. Embed packages in ordinary WordPress pages and posts, or place them inside LearnDash content when an LMS is already in use.
Does it report SCORM or xAPI learner activity?
No. It loads and displays compatible self-contained web packages. It does not include learner tracking, a Learning Record Store or standards-based completion reporting.
What happens after I delete a free package?
Its active-package slot becomes available again. The free allowance is based on two currently active packages, not two lifetime uploads.
Can I see where a package is used?
Yes. Package Attachments reports pages and posts using each package through the Gutenberg block or shortcode and flags packages with no detected attachment.
Will every exported course work?
No. The ZIP must be a self-contained web package with a working index.html. Exports that require authenticated cloud services or unsupported remote dependencies may not run.
Publish the package without buying a reporting stack.
Start with two active courses, test every display mode and upgrade only when you need more package capacity.
